…to Royal Copenhagen and Norman Copenhagen?

Here’s an interesting white-with-a-blue-collar collection from the Dutch Royal Deft:

..and I cannot help but wonder how much it reminds me of two other collections I know and highly value.

Well, take a look at the Blue Fluted Mega her:

…and a bottle from the Grandma collection her:

Today (yet another cold, short winter day), I’d like to share with you a place that’s put on a matching, winter robe. The robe is Christmas inpsired as well; but it’s, first of all, an inviting yet misterious space….

Enjoy!

I love the combination of thick warm knits, sheep skin and wood:

Wouldn’t it be nice to spend a cold, winter day in a bed like this one:

The hand knitted items (blanket and pillows) are available at le souk.

What my appartment would want for Christmas if it could speak and if actually was spending the holiday in my own place:

If I were my appartment I’d actually consider two different scenarios:

1. No X-mas tree but white or black branches with decoration as on picture no. 1, supplemented with these gorgeous light houses in no. 2

2. The second scenario would be all about a fresh, juicy green tree, decorated with no. 3 to 5.

Both symbolise the holiday, but are far from being too direct or tacky.

No. 1 is from Spanish Helena Rohner.

No. 2 is a result of a design duo: Mette Bache og Barbara Bendix-Becker

No. 3 and 5 are from by Nord, while no. 4 is a work of Karen Nybroe Mogensen and Jesper Carlsen.

For Christmas I normally go home to my parents, which means that I don’t pay too much attention to how my own place is decorated for the holiday. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have an opinion :) about what decoration style works heart-warming and appealing to me.

I do like the fairytale atmosphere; a wonderland…of course it’s not the decoration that makes this holiday so special. It’s the people who come from far and near and share their time with us. They are not there all the time however and I just like to be reminded during the whole month of December what it is that I’m looking so much forward to ;)

The next picture is what I mean with the fairytale X-mas. The white wings on the dining chairs are a real topping on a really good cup cake.

What Christmas decoration style do you like?

The ”Sixties” lamp definitely falls into the cute category. I hope you’ll agree on that. It’s simple, both in form and material; it gives you though this overall impression that you can easily define as cute. ;)

I’m sure it’s a matter of the right combination of colours and the form itself. Have you noticed that the ‘Sixties’ lamp looks like the upper part of a straw?

A great way to add a smiley to your home!

The ‘Sixties’ is designed by a Russian designer, Maxim Maximovich.

Do you need some more dynamics and action on your walls then I recommend  you consider hanging these shelves:

I personally prefer the oak edition of the shelf.

About the styling…. I’d certainly go for a simple combination of two oak pieces centrally on a wall and a white one shelf a little bit away from the two other ones.
